Post cover anything and everything with a focus on M&A, public companies, and entrepreneurship.
After growing up in the suburbs of New York City, I headed to Boston and attended Bentley University. While at Bentley, I started a private investment company with my twin brother Sam. When we started, Sam and I didn’t really have an investment strategy. We were basically ready to invest in anything that seemed cool (I bet you wish you knew me then!).
Leveraging what we had learned investing in private companies (and watching my dad do so for over 20 years), we thought we had identified an opportunity funding small public companies. After making traditional direct investments in a few public companies, we realized that value creation for public companies is just as difficult as it is for private companies (if not more!). We decided we needed to get more targeted with our investment strategy but remained drawn to small public companies. Trying to develop a strategy, we analyzed the pros and cons of small/micro-caps and studied small/micro-cap success stories. What we discovered was that small public companies are uniquely positioned to grow rapidly through acquisitions. We knew that acquisitions were the secret to micro-cap success so we decided to form Acquis Capital and make it our mission to grow small public companies with acquisitions!
